Situated ten kilometres from the city is Vitoria Gasteiz Airport. This is a small airport which mainly deals with cargo flights. Ryanair formally used the airport for flights from Dublin and Stansted however they have now cancelled all Vitoria flights.

There are two annual music festivals held in the area. The Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival runs for a week usually from around the second week of July while the Azkena Rock Festival, normally begins in late August.

The patron saint of Vitoria is celebrated every year at the Fiestas de la Blanca festival (4th – 9th August). Expect to see plenty of street theatre and open air music events as well as plenty of traditional food.
