Known officially as Mahon Airport, Menorca Airport can be found four and a half kilometres from the city of Mahon. The Balearic island of Menorca or Minorca is a popular tourist draw bringing in visitors from all over the world throughout the year.

Tourists flock from Ireland, the UK, Germany, Italy and many more locations in large numbers. In 2008 over two and a half million passengers used Mahon Airport. Sixty one percent of these were international travelers. In the summer months the airport begins to reach its capacity and can be extremely busy. The translation of Minorca means minor. This points to the islands smaller size compared to its neighbour Majorca.

Flight options from Ireland to Menorca would mainly be charter flights apart from Jet2.com’s service from Belfast International Airport. Easyjet, BmiBaby and Jet2 offer services from the UK including flights from Liverpool, Newcastle, Stansted, Bristol, Gatwick and Luton while connections to the rest of Spain are plentiful with Iberia Airlines flying to Majorca, Madrid, Valencia and Ibiza.
